Ben Browder is an American actor and writer who was bought up in Charlotte, North Carolina. He studied at the Myers Park High School and later graduated from Furman University with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Psychology. He played excellent football and was a star player of the University team. He then went on to study drama at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London. Here he met Francesca Bullar for the first time. He later married Francesca in 1989. The couple is proud parents of a son and a daughter. He has brother named Neil Browder. The family currently resides in Australia.

Browder started his acting career as a stage artist. On television he has appeared on shows like Party Of Five, Strangers, Thunder Ally, Bad to the Bone, The Sky’s on Fire, CSI: Miami, Justice League, Secrets and Stargate SG-1 besides playing the role of John Crichton on Farscape. He has also acted in the movies Boogie Boy, Nevada, A Kiss Before Dying, Memphis Belle, Duncan’s World and A Killer Within. In addition he has also written a few episodes of Farscape and Stargate SG-1. He has won two Saturn Awards and has been nominated for four others.

Role in Farscape

In Farscape, he plays the role of leading character John Crichton. John is an astronaut who gets accidentally sucked into a wormhole and lands on the other side of the galaxy among warring aliens. He is rescued by the live spaceship Moya and soon finds himself being pursued by the Peacekeepers along with the other members of the crew. He is specially wanted by Scorpius, who wants to extract the wormhole technology from his brain. However, towards the start of the fourth season, Scorpius and John become allies in the fight against Scarrans.
