Jonathan Hardy is actor, writer and director who was born and bought up in New Zealand. He is a member of the Coolshite Panel on the prodcast of Coolshite on the Tube. He has worked in numerous films and television shows across which he has played a variety of roles. On television he has worked in shows like Mandog, Bluey, Prisoner, Heroes, Mission: Impossible, A Country Practice, Twisted Tales, State Coroner, Stringers and MDA besides doing the voice over for the character of Rygel in Farscape. Besides he has played roles in films like The Adventures of Barry McKenzie, Moving On, Mad Max, Lonely Hearts, Wills and Burke, Bloodmoon, Mr. Reliable, Moulin Rouge, Tunnel Vision and Severance. In addition he has also written The Adventures of Skippy and Constance besides writing and directing Backstage. He also wrote the screenplay for Breaker Morant and was nominated for the Oscar Award for Best Writing, Screenplay Based on Material from Another Medium.

Role in Farscape

In Farscape, he has done the voice over for the puppet character of Dominar Rygel XVI. He is a tiny creature who once ruled the Hynerian Empire. However, he was overthrown by his unfaithful cousin who handed him over to the Peacekeepers. In spite of his small size he is quite proud and is a source of comic relief on the series. He is the only other puppet character in the series besides Pilot.
